Born on January 6th , 1964, to Italian-American parents Marie DeFeoScaramucci and Alexander Scaramucci, Anthony was raised as a devout Catholic in Port Washington on Long Island, New York. Scaramucci attended Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington, graduating with the Class of 1982. While in high school, he took his first steps into politics and public service, serving as chairman of the board student.

He went to Tufts University where he bagged a BA in Economics in 1986 and later Harvard Law School. Scaramucci began his career at Goldman Sachs in 1989 as an investment banker. A year later he was fired but later reinstated after three months and joined the Equities division.

In 1996, Scaramucci left his position at GoldmanSachs to create his own hedge fund Oscar Capital Management LLC alongside his friend and former colleague Andrew Boszhardt. He was responsible for compliance and research oversight and separately managed accounts with assets totaling over $1 billion. In November 2001, Oscar Capital was sold to Neuberger Berman. When Neuberger Berman was sold to Lehman Brothers in 2003, he assumed the position of Managing Director from 2003 to 2005, he was in charge of the distribution of private asset management products in the private client service division of Lehman.

Political career

Interestingly, Scaramucci was once a passionate Democrat and in 2008 he was a fundraiser for Barack Obama. He and Obama were classmates at Harvard Law School who played basketball together.

By the time of the next election cycle, Scaramucci had pitched a tent with the Republican Party as national finance co-chair for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign. Romney lost to Obama. In the run-up to the 2016 election, Scaramucci called then-candidate Trump a “political hacker” whose rhetoric is “un-American and very, very divisive.”

He almost criticized Trump’s policy, he was a vocal opponent of Trump’s initiative to build a border wall between Mexico and the United States. He also opposed Trump’s immigration policy, which has says Trump was wrong for ‘attempting to blame all of Islam and all Muslims for the ideology and actions of a minority. “

After Jeb Bush withdrew from the presidential race, Scaramucci shifted his support to Donald Trump, joining the campaign finance committee. In July 2017, Scarramucci was named White House communications director in an arrangement that was seen by political analysts as odd.

His terms of reference stated that he would report directly to the president, as opposed to the more standard procedure of reporting to the president’s chief of staff. Key figures in the administration were opposed to his appointment. White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigned the same day Scaramucci was nominated in apparent protest at the nomination. Longtime Republican heavyweight and President Reince Priebus’ chief of staff also vehemently opposed the nomination.

In a phone call to a reporter, Scaramucci crossed the lines of decency for a public office holder, calling Chief of Staff Reince Priebus a “paranoid fucking schizophrenic, paranoid.” Responding to questions about White House strategist Steve Banon, he said: ‘I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my dick’

The following day, he apologized in a tweet for using what he called “colorful language”. On July 31, 2017, after just 11 days on the job, President Trump fired Scaramucci from his role in the White House on the recommendation of new chief of staff General John Kelly, who wanted to fire him because he didn’t think that Scaramucci was disciplined enough.
