A good number of people would agree that without them XFactor’s Alex and Sierra wouldn’t have won the third and final season of US X Factor. Alex and Sierra – Profile
Alex and Sierra are a unique musical duo that won the third and final season of The X Factor (US edition). The duo consisted of Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton.
Born on September 8, 1991, in Florida under the zodiac sign of Virgo, Alex Kinsey grew up exhibiting the traits of those born with the zodiac sign of Virgo, such as loyalty, analytical skills, kindness and hard work. Not much is known about Kinsey’s parents and siblings. All that is known about him is that he spent his childhood with his family in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Alex once won a boy contest called Little Master Edgewater when he was just a young boy. He attended New Smyrna Beach High School, after which he moved to the University of Central Florida where he graduated.
Sierra Deaton on the other hand, who stands at a height of 1.6 meters and weighs 56 kg, was born on February 11, 1991 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as Sierra Phuong-Thao Deaton on behalf of the family of Dr. John Deaton and Mrs. Vu Deaton. She grew up in Orlando, Florida. Her father, Dr. John Deaton, is of British descent, while her mother, Vu Deaton, is Vietnamese. She is therefore mixed. Although she belongs to a mixed ethnic group, she has American citizenship and was born in the country. She attended Lake Howell High School and earned a degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida.
Career
Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton have been in the music industry for a few years now. In fact, it is impossible to talk about the careers of Alex and Sierra independently. Although they had a fanbase before their X Factor spotlight, their career was really on a shallow level until they auditioned for X Factor USA in 2013.
X Factor brought these two love birds to the limelight. At first the judges questioned their ability to stay strong until the end as they are romantically involved. They began their journey to stardom by wowing the judges with a sultry version of Britney Spears’ “Toxic.”
They continued in the top 40 and Simon Cowella was made their mentor. For the Four Chair Challenge, Alex and Sierra took on the John Travolta/Olivia Newton-John classic “You’re the One I Want” from the musical film Grease (1978). They were praised by the judges for putting their own spin on the song and went on to become the first and only group to win the American version of the show.
After victoriously winning the X Factor, they announced that they would be working on their debut album. They have worked with great artists such as Julian Bunetta, Sam Watters, John Shanks, Toby Gad, Jason Mraz and John Legend.
On May 3, 2014, their debut single “Scarecrow” was released and subsequently their promotional single “Little Do You Know” was released. Three more promotional singles were subsequently released. On October 7, 2014, the debut album, This Is About Us was released under Syco Music, owned by Simon Cowell.
Relationship – Are they married?
Alex and Sierra met in 2009 during their high school days. They met on a beach in Florida and were later friends, without attachment. It was very interesting for both parties, who understood that they were both passionate about music. Since they spent so much time together, it was not difficult for them to fall in love with each other. Eventually, they started dating in 2011 and made music together. In 2013, they auditioned for the third season of X Factor USA. At that time, they were just dating and not yet married.
Why did Alex and Sierra break up?
Till date, no one knows the real reason why Alex and Sierra decided to go their separate ways. After about 8 years, no one believes that the couple will end up breaking up. However, the end of their relationship also puts an end to their musical collaboration. The sad news was revealed on their official Twitter account on September 1, 2017. According to their post, they broke up within a year and tried to stay friends. However, they thought it wise not to continue making music together, but rather to focus on their own careers.
So far, Alex has maintained a low profile regarding his relationship status after the breakup with Sierra. Not much is known about his recent relationships. Therefore, it would be misguided to assume that he is single or in a relationship since there are no supporting facts.
On the other hand, Sierra is beloved in her current relationship with an Australian pop star, Luke Hemmings. Luke is a renowned guitarist and vocalist for Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer. She posted a photo with him on July 16, 2018, where she posed in a lovely gesture. The lovebirds had been cautious in their love lives for a long time. They are rumored to have been romantically involved since October 2017.
