Timothy Heller is an American singer-songwriter known as Timothy. Before going solo in 2017, Heller was a member of indie-pop duo Dresses.
Heller was born in Portland, Oregon on the 17th of August 1992. She has always had an interest in music and as a way to put her skills into practice she was a member of her high school band and musicals.
In 2013, when she was just 21, Heller formed a band with Jared Ryan Maldonado called the indie-pop duo Dresses. The group has released a studio album and two EPs. Sun Shy became one of their hit songs, amassing over 13 million plays on Spotify alone, other singles also reached over 1 million plays.
The singles became so popular that in 2013/2014 they paved the way for some dates on Melanie Martinez’s Dollhouse Tour. Their song Capture also went on to be featured on the American series Vampire Diary.
However, in 2016, the two parted ways to pursue their careers individually as solo stars. In October 2017, Heller released her debut single titled Sleep. The official video for the single arrived four months later on February 23, 2018.
In March 2018, Timothy announced via her Instagram page that she would be collaborating with Hailey Wait.

1. She suffered from borderline personality disorder
Timothy Heller suffered from a mental disorder Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) – This is a mental illness with symptoms such as generalized mood instability, disgust with self-image, insecurity and interpersonal relationship issues. Moreover, this disorder often destabilizes a person, disrupts family and professional life, and can even mar that person’s sense of identity.
In an interview with Atwood, Heller opened up about her struggle with BPD in the dresses group. She said her experience with Dresses was much darker than anyone could imagine, pointing to her mental health issues as well as her extremely unsupportive team. She also talked about how she was subjected to a lot of mental abuse but had to stay because she needed her voice for the band. but when she couldn’t take it anymore, they had to part ways.
She reportedly improved after leaving the group and began to focus on her mental well-being.
