Yes, there are foods that burn calories while you eat them, which are known as negative calories. You can read about what’s behind it and what foods are popular in our trends.

The principle of negative calories is easy to explain: some foods are so low in calories that the body uses more energy in digestion than it actually consumed. In addition, the low-fat snacks satisfy hunger and curb the appetite.

The following foods have negative calories: 

1. Celery

Probably the best-known slimming maker is celery. It’s no coincidence that celery juice, also known as cellery juice, is a popular weight-loss drink. Vegetables contain approximately 20 kilocalories per 100 grams, but the body requires more energy to digest celery than is consumed: in other words, negative calories!

2. Grapefruit

Citrus fruits, especially grapefruit and lemons, are real slimming products. Grapefruit is not only healthy, it is also low in calories: with around 36 kilocalories per 100 grams, the grapefruit is a real lightweight. 

3. Lemon

And lemon, with 29 kilocalories per 100 grams, is one of those types of fruit that does not burden your calorie account.

4. Watermelon

Our favorite summer fruit not only tastes good, it also has almost no calories. The water-rich fruit provides only 25 to 30 kilocalories per 100 grams.

5. Cucumber 

The vegetable with the lowest calories is by far the cucumber. These healthy vegetables only provide twelve kilocalories per 100 grams. In theory, you can eat as much cucumber as you want – you will still lose weight.

6. Spinach 

Whether raw or cooked – if you like to eat spinach, you can grab it here! With only 23 kilocalories per 100 grams, spinach is also an absolute slimming product.

7. Asparagus

Although it is currently out of season, asparagus is one of the healthiest and lowest calorie vegetables at all with 20 kilocalories per 100 grams. With asparagus (green and white) you will be able to get your hands on it again from next year (May)! In winter, capsules replace healthy vegetables:
