She was born as Janney Marin Rivera on June 26, 1985, to her Latino father – Jose Trinidad Marin and mother – Jenni Rivera in Long Beach, California. The media has yet to uncover any information regarding her siblings, but we need her to be the oldest of five children. He was eventually arrested in April 2006 and sentenced to over 30 years in prison without parole in May 2007.
On December 8, 2013, tragedy struck the Rivera Chiquis lost her mother in a plane crash while returning to America after completing a musical performance in Mexico. The following year, Chiquis released her first song Paloma Blanca in honor of her late mother. The following year, she published a memoir titled Forgiveness where she shared to the world the reasons why she was no longer in communication with her mother a few months before her death.
According to the revelations in her memoir, her mother accused her of sleeping with her stepfather, Esteban Loaiza, while she was staying with them. This was the cause of the break between the two.
