People going from utter obscurity to social media stardom in record time hasn’t been news for a long time. There are so many success stories on Youtube and Instagram that everything seems blurry. However, achieving the same success as a group is something that is unanimously recognized as being much more difficult. Whether it’s creative differences or financial disagreements, a group can quickly fall apart. But Coby Cotton’s five-man squad is proof that sometimes it all works out.

Coby is part of the famous Youtube group known as “Dude Perfect”. Over the past decade, Coby and his band have achieved immense success. Their channel is currently at the top of the list of most subscribed sports channels and the 7th most subscribed channel on the platform.

Coby Cotton’s Bio & Age

The Youtuber story started in Woodlands, Texas where he was born on July 17, 1987. Nothing is known about his life experiences before his time at the University. For his college education, Coby studied at Texas A&M University. He enrolled at the prestigious Texas College in 2006 and graduated in 2010, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Psychology.

A year before he started attending Texas A&M, Cotton had the opportunity to work at one of Apple’s stores in his hometown of Woodlands. There he worked as a Mac specialist. He fulfilled his role for three years before leaving the store in 2008.

Coby And Perfect Dude

Much of Coby’s success is due to the fact that he surrounded himself with people like him. He met Tyler Toney, Cody Jones and Garrett Hilbert during his time at Texas A&M University. They quickly became friends and roommates, alongside Cory Cotton, Coby’s twin brother.

Being from Texas, Coby and the other four shared the same Christian and conservative views and so they didn’t really party or do anything other than what one would naturally expect of students. In a bid to save time and have fun, the group began betting their sandwiches on which of them could sink the most outrageous hit.

Tyler came out on top most of the time and soon they had the idea to film their basketball challenge. They did it in Toney’s backyard, created a Youtube channel and uploaded the video which they called “Backyard Edition”. Coby and his team uploaded the video in April 8, 2009, and the results were shocking. Within a week, the video had garnered over 200,000 views. The band members knew they had something to do and continued to film video stuff from Toney’s backyard and their Christian summer camp, Sky Ranch. By 2019, the channel had amassed over 42 million subscribers and each of their videos averaged 10 million viewers.

It wasn’t long before the world called. Coby Cotton’s Dude Perfect was soon asked to tape a segment by ESPN. The network would later air their segment on many of their shows, such as E:60, First Take, Pardon the Interruption, Round of the Horn, and SportsNation.Perfect Dude is also swimming in a plethora of endorsement deals and celebrity collaborations. During their career, Coby and his team have worked with tennis greats – Serena Williams, NASCAR driver – Ricky Stenhouse Jr., actor – Paul Rudd, NBA player – Chris Paul, and singer – Tim McGraw, among host others. They also went to Europe to film with football stars from European football clubs such as Manchester City FC, Arsenal FC and Chelsea FC.

The group’s success has largely expanded beyond the video streaming platform. In 2011, Coby and Dude Perfect entered the gaming market with the release of their eponymous video game. They soon released a Perfect Dude 2 sequel and have since followed that up with a few more games. In September, they signed an agreement with CMT to launch their own television program. It was titled The Perfect Dude Show and was later acquired by Nickelodeon ahead of its second season. They’ve also been on Good Morning America to discuss their trick videos and how they make them.

Coby Cotton’s wife and family life

As previously reported, the Youtuber has a twin brother, Cory Cotton, who is also part of Dude Perfect. Coby also has a sister whose name remains unknown. The identity of his parents and the rest of his family also remains a mystery.

However, Coby created his own family. He is currently married to Aubrey Cotton (née Ellett) and they seem to be enjoying life and having fun with each other. It’s unclear when the two met or when they started dating. Cotton first introduced her to her fans on May 14, 2017, via an Instagram post. Three months later, in August of the same year, Coby Cotton posted another message revealing that he had raised the matter with Aubrey. The couple walked down the aisle on December 2, 2017.

What is his net worth?

Coby Cotton’s affiliation with Dude Perfect is where all of his money comes from as far as anyone knows. With an average viewership of 10 million views per video and over 200 videos, it’s estimated that Coby and the Dude Perfect guys make around $4.5 million a year, and that’s just from Youtube. Consider endorsements, endorsements, big name collaborations, TV deals, and sales at their specialty store. You will agree that their value for money is much higher.

Although many sources estimate that the band members are collectively worth around $20 million, it’s unclear exactly what Coby’s share of the band is.
