The biography of George Stephanopoulos
George was born in Massachusetts in the town of Fall River on February 10, 1961, to parents of Greek ancestry. He went to Orange High School in Ohio where he started wrestling as a competitive sport. After graduating, he continued his studies at Columbia University in New York and graduated with a degree in political science with highest distinction. He then attended Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship, where he earned his Masters of Divinity.
Although his father wanted him to become a lawyer or a priest, and George nursed the idea of being either, he moved to Washington D.C. to work as an aide to Ed Feighan, a congressman from Ohio.
