Guillermo Rodriguezwas born in Zacatecas, Mexico on November 27, 1971. He moved to the United States in 2003 and then took on a few menial jobs to get by. He first worked as a waiter in a hotel and as a parking attendant on Hollywood Boulevard. While doing these odd jobs, he remembered that his daily life started from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for his first job, while his second job started from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. This meant that he had virtually no holidays. or lots of personal time for things like relaxation or socializing.
Luck smiled on him the same year (2003) after he was featured as a comic relief on one of the episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Due to his bulky appearance and broken English, coupled with his likeable and fun personality, this episode was a smash hit, prompting the producers to consider casting him in a long-running role as a performer. When he started, he was still working as a parking lot attendant as well as a performer on the show, but over time he couldn’t keep up with both, so he decided to jump into his new job, which left him without doubt brought fame and fortune that he only dreamed of. In 2005, he had received his green papers, which made him a true citizen of the United States.
Along with his work as a buddy and correspondent for Jimmel Kimmel Live! on the red carpet, he managed to save time and become more financially dynamic. According to him, he gets 8 weeks off a year and he gets paid regardless whether he’s still on the show or not due to royalties.
