The Grammy-winning musician was born Kacey LeeMusgraves on August 21, 1988 in Golden, Texas. Musgraves got her artistic side from her mother Karen (née Abrams) Musgraves who is an artist. These genes were also passed down to her younger sister Kelly Christine Sutton (née Musgraves), a talented photographer. Their father, Craig, is a businessman and runs his own press in Carthage, Texas.
Musgraves’ mother held her by the hand and guided her through her early years in music which began at the age of 8 when she started writing songs.
