Katie Daryl was born on June 7, 1984. Information about her early life and upbringing is sparse, however, she revealed that her first media experience was working as a part-time radio DJ when she was a teenager.
After graduating from high school, she attended Arizona State University for her college education. She continued to accumulate experience in the media industry, particularly radio, while in college. She worked as a morning show producer on KISS-FM in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1998, she interned at the Sports Fan Radio Network under the auspices of the Association for Women in Sports Media.
Due to the tough demands of working morning radio shows, Katie Daryl decided to move into television after graduating from college. She also moved to New York where she landed a job as a correspondent on the political show Pick or Lose on MTV. Subsequently, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she worked briefly in FM radio.
Daryl’s first major television job was as co-host of The Mark Cuban Show on UPN and CBS. She co-hosted the show for 2 seasons alongside Mark Cuban. In the early 2000s, she joined HDNet, a cable television channel founded by Mark Cuban. Her first role was as the host and producer of the channel’s music show True Music. She also hosted another Zippo Hot Tour show in 2005 and the following year she began hosting Deadline! . Her hosting role on Deadline! ran for 6 seasons between 2006 and 2012. On July 2, 2012, HDNet changed its name to AXS TV.
In early 2013, Katie Daryl landed her biggest role yet on the music show The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands. She had a very successful 8-season stint as the show’s host and executive producer between 2013 and 2017. Her brilliant work on the show won her the CableFAX program award for “Best Host – Music” in 2017. Beyond her duties on the biggest tribute bands in the world, she has also hosted several other shows on AXS TV.
Also in 2017, the multi-talented TV star began creating a series of original musical countdowns.
