Kurt Cobain Biography (Age)
On February 20, 1967, in Aberdeen, Washington, Kurt Donald Cobain was welcomed into the world. He was born to Wendy Elizabeth (née Fradenburg) and Donald Leland Cobain. Her mother was a waitress while her father was an auto mechanic.
From an early age, Cobain developed an interest in arts and music, as he drew his favorite movie and cartoon characters and also sang. At age four, he reportedly started playing the piano and writing songs about his visit to a local park. At the age of 14, his uncle would have given the young boy either a bicycle or a guitar, for which he would have chosen a guitar.
After his parents divorced, Cobain continued to hone his musical abilities throughout his teenage years, forming the band Fecal Matter while attending Aberdeen High School. However, he dropped out two weeks before graduation because he did not have enough credits to graduate. This prompted his mother to kick him out. The young man then lived with friends before he could find his own apartment.
In the following years Kurt Cobain, who had formed the band Nirvana with Krist Novoselic, struggled to find a drummer as they spent an unsuccessful tour disillusioning him with his music career. The duo then hired drummer Chad Channing and they recorded the album Bleach. After Channing left the band, Nirvana achieved mainstream success by hiring drummer Dave Grohl who helped them popularize an alternative rock subgenre called “grunge” when they released the album Nevermind in 1991.

The couple were reportedly officially introduced again in Los Angeles in May 1991 at a concert by L7 and Butthole Surfers. Following this meeting, Love began suing Cobain, and the two men came together to defend each other’s interests, including drug use.
In late 1991, Cobain and Love became a couple and they later exchanged their wedding vows on February 24, 1992 on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. Love notably wore a satin and lace dress while her husband wore pajamas. At the time of their marriage, Love was already pregnant with the couple’s only child, Frances Bean Cobain, born August 18, 1992.
