Born November 11, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri, Lavell Maurice Crawford, Lavell Crawford is an American comedian and actor.

He started doing stand-up comedy in the 90s when he was in his early twenties. He performed at several clubs and later scored a spot on BET’s 1990s show Comic View. Crawford gained wide recognition in 2007 as a contestant on NBC’s competitive reality show Last Comic Standing. He emerged as a runner-up, losing the top spot to Jon Reep.
