Loyle Carner is a British actor and rapper, hip-hop artist. His very first studio album, Yesterday Gone which he released in 2017, was nominated for the 2017 Mercury Prize aka the Brit Awards. Even though he lost the limelight, Carner continued to shoot and earned another nomination at the 2018 Brit Awards for British Breakthrough Act and British Male Solo Artist.

He was nominated for the 2016 BBC Sound Longlist on the tail of his highly successful debut EP. By the end of 2017, Carner had embarked on a massive tour of Ireland and the UK, which saw him perform to sold-out crowds in Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol and London. Previously, he had participated in many festivals such as Latitude, Bestival, Truck and many others. Loyle Carner was indeed one of the UK’s most promising talents in 2017.

Biography, Age

Loyle Carner was born on October 6, 1994 in Lambeth, central London. His birth name is Benjamin Gerard Coyle-Larner, he derived the stage name “Loyle Carner” as a misinterpretation of his bifurcated surname Coyle-Larner.

He began his secondary education at Whitgift School, an independent boys’ school in South Croydon. He went to the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon ( alma mater Amy Winehouse and Adele) to pursue studies. Her education was interrupted in 2014 due to the death of her beloved stepfather. Her stepfather had had life-threatening complications from epilepsy. This caused Carner to return home to support his family.

In 2008, young Loyle Carner got his first role in the epic adventure film from Warner Bros. 10,000 BC. Although his acting career only had a few appearances, Carner did everything possible to tour with his music career.

He first gained notice in the UK music scene when he was featured by Rejjie Snow in his film. 1992 which went viral in 2013. A year later, Loyle Carner released his own debut EP titled A Little Late. All but one of the songs on that debut EP were produced by Carner’s best friend. Rebel Kleff . A Little Late Not only was it well received, but it also caused quite a stir on the UK hip-hop scene.

Loyle Carner has been on supporting tours with KateTempest, Joey Bada$$ and Atmosphere. It was a dream come true for the South London rapper when he was able to support one of his biggest idols, Nas, on the Bristol O2 academy stage in August 2016. Carner made a return to the O2 Academy Brixton in 2017 to promote his first album with one-on-one show.

Loyle Carner is currently 23 years old. Having started his musical career on such a bright note, he is definitely one to watch on the international music scene.
