Margo Price is a country music singer and songwriter whose songs are primarily political in nature. She debuted on March 25, 2016 with her solo album titled Midwest Farmer’s Daughter. Margo Rae Price was born in Aledo, Illinois, United States of America on April 15, 1983. As the name of her debut album suggests, she is truly the daughter of Midwestern farm parents with whom she lived in a small town in Illinois. A town that literally had a large expanse of cornfields with only 33 inhabitants at the time, when she was a child. Although her parents had their own farm, they had to sell it when she was two years old so that her father could take up a job as a prison guard. So not growing up around cattle and plantations was hard on his family who lacked a farm of their own.
She discovered her love for music at an early age, and ever since she grew up around farms, the kind of songs she was exposed to shaped her taste in music. As a child, Margo Price’s major musical influences include: Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Janis Joplin, Bobbie Gentry and Emmylou Harris.
