Nikita Dragun was born on January 31, 1996 in Springfield, Virginia. She is multiracial as she was born to a Vietnamese (Southeast Asian) father and a Mexican mother. She was raised next to 3 siblings; a brother named Vincarlo Nguyen and sisters, Allegrah Nguyen Capri and Taliah Nguyen Marriott. Although Nikita Dragun was raised as a boy nicknamed “Nicholas”, she always knew from a young age that she was attracted to the female gender. During his very first PE class, young Nicholas joined the line of girls and insisted on wearing short shorts. He also loved dressing in his mother’s makeup and experimenting with them. When he was 8 years old, he came across a documentary about transgender people which gave birth to the idea of a transition that would change everyday life.
However, Nikita Dragun had no role model growing up as she never met anyone who was transgender in her home state of Virginia. On top of that was the fact that LGBT issues were barely brought up in public discourse and so she grew up with everyone believing she was gay. After graduating from high school, the girl finally gathered the confidence to bring up the subject with her parents. Although initially shocked, her very conservative parents gave her all the support she needed throughout her journey.
Nikita Draguna’s hugely popular YouTube channel was established in 2013, but she has kept the fact that she is transgender away from her viewers and followers. She finally made this major revelation in December 2015 via a very moving video titled “I am transgender”, which has since gone viral. She also chronicled her transition in a series of vlogs called “Transformation Tuesday.”

Although currently single, Nikita is known to have dated Oscar Utierre, a Los Angeles-based fashion designer. Their relationship began before she made her gender transition and it lasted for several years after, however, it was well concealed from the public. Their romance was actually revealed to the public after it ended when Utierre was featured in one of Dragun’s vlogs titled “EX BOYFRIEND DO MY MAKEUP!”.
