Samantha Jamie Bee was born on October 25, 1969, in Ontario, Canada to Debra and Ronald Bee. Her parents’ marriage broke up after she was born, marking the start of an unconventional childhood for her.
She was raised by her grandmother and also split some of her time between her parents’ homes. The young bee was educated at Humberside Collegiate Institute and York Memorial Collegiate Institute.
After graduating from college at George Brown School of Theater in Toronto, the comedienne formed a comedy-sketch women’s troupe known as “The Atomic Fireballs.” Bee performed with the band without pay for a time while working as a waitress to pay her bills. Although she didn’t make any money performing with the group, it provided her with all the training she needed to take the spot on The Daily Show when the time came.

Samantha Bee is married to Canadian actor andproducer Jason Jones. The two met in 1996 as members of a theater troupe during a stage production. They married on October 3, 2001, and their union has remained unchanged ever since. They have 3 children together, 2 daughters and a son.
The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Piper Bee-Jones in January 2006. They welcomed their second, a son named Fletcher Bee-Jones on June 20, 2008. In October 2010, they welcomed their third child, a daughter named Ripley Bee-Jones.
