This year will be Sandra Bullock’s final appearance on screen – at least “for a while.” In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that she planned to take a sabbatical from acting in order to focus on raising her children.
Bullock says that her “work in front of the camera needs to take a pause… until I don’t feel what I feel now when I’m in front of a camera” in an interview with Tracy Smith that will air this weekend.
“Which is it?” Smith asks
“I want to be at home,” Bullock responds . “So I’m not doing anyone any favors who’s investing in a project if I’m saying, ‘I just want to be at home.’ Because I was always running, I was always running to the next thing. I just want to be present and responsible for one thing.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight earlier this week, Bullock explained her decision, saying, “I need to be in the environment that brings me the most joy. When I’m at work, I take my job extremely seriously, and it’s [a 24-hour job]. And all I want to do is be with my children and family all of the time.” (Bullock is a single mother who adopted two young children in 2010 and 2015.)
Bullock’s most recent movie, The Lost City, will be released on March 25, and she will also star in the action comedy Bullet Train, which will be released in July. Bullet Train, on the other hand, was shot before The Lost City, making the latter her current project.
