The World’s 20 Most Expensive Alcoholic Drinks

Everyone enjoys a drink now and then, but if you find yourself paying for some of these, you might prefer to drink something non-alcoholic instead! Here is a list of the world’s 20 most costly alcoholic drinks.

20 – Salvatore’s Legacy ($8,316)

Salvatore’s Legacy, the world’s oldest cocktail, is Playboy London’s house drink of choice.

Salvatore Calabrese, the famed bartender, creates each cocktail.

He blends and mixes four major ingredients: 1778 Clos de Griffier Vieux Cognac, 1770 Kümmel Liqueur, circa-1860 Dubb Orange Curaçao, and early 1900s Angostura bitters.

This results in a beautiful and pricey cocktail, but also a memorable experience!

19 – The Winston Cocktail costs $12,790 a glass

When ready to drink, this cocktail is famous for resembling blown glass! The Winston Cocktail, which consistently ranks as one of the most expensive alcoholic beverages in the world, is only available from one Australian bartender.  The drink contains many of the world’s most costly liqueurs, including Grand Marnier Quintessence.

One of the main reasons for the high price is because the cognac used is exceptionally scarce. As a result, they must select the appropriate clientele to appreciate the drink and charge accordingly.

18- The Diamond Is Forever Martini ( $18,000 )

This martini may appear to be conventional, but the grey goose and lime-infused cocktail has a one-carat diamond as an added touch! If diamonds are your thing, then you’ll love this one.

That’s right, you heard correctly… a genuine diamond in your beverage!

It is now exclusively available at the Ritz-Carlton in Tokyo.

17- Legacy By Angostura ($25,000)

Angostura aimed to create the “ultimate manifestation of Angostura Rum.” The brand desired to create a rum that was regarded as the best sipping rum ever!

Legacy by Angostura is the most expensive rum on our list. It’s a combination of seven different rums from the brand’s past lines.

16- The Ruby Rose Cocktail – ($40,000)

The magnificent Ruby Rose drink is up next on our list!

If the sight of it isn’t enough to persuade you to drink it, knowing what’s in it will.

It’s simple to create at home with pomegranate juice, Hangar One Vodka, St. Germain, orange juice, and rosewater.

If you want to make it a little more exciting, add a four-carat ruby on top and you’ve got yourself a $40,000 cocktail!

15- Chateau D’Yquem  ($130,000 )

In 2011, this vintage cognac broke the Guinness World Record for the most expensive bottle of white wine in the world.

It’s now considered more of a historical artifact than a regular bottle of wine, as it’s completely undrinkable, or at least you wouldn’t want to.

But, as far as pricey alcoholic drinks go, this one has enough history to justify its $130,000 price tag!

14- Diamond Jubilee By Johnnie Walker ($165,000)

This Diamond Jubilee Whisky from Johnnie Walker ranks 14th on our list of the most costly alcoholic drinks.

Johnnie Walker is noted for creating some of the world’s most costly cocktails.

Their Diamond Jubilee series was produced to commemorate the Queen’s 60th coronation anniversary in Britain and is often regarded as Johnnie Walker’s best whisky.

13- The Black Pearl Louis XIII Anniversary Edition By Remy Martin – ($165,000)

Remy Martin’s Black Pearl Louis XIII follows.

This is presently their most costly liquor, as some of the ingredients are over 100 years old!

To guarantee exclusivity, the bottles are created in extremely limited quantities and are all encrusted with diamonds.

They were also built using a unique technology and process that is assumed to be hidden somewhere in a vault.

12- Penfold Ampoule ($170,000)

One of the most eye-catching bottles on our list is the Penfolds Ampoule.

It’s hand blown and has a huge impact, which certainly helps explain the exorbitant price tag!

When you pay $170,000, you’ll receive a certificate of ownership and authenticity signed by the project’s Chief Winemaker!

11- The Sapphire Revelation By Bombay ($200,000)

Bombay, London’s most famous gin manufacturer, is one of the most recognized gin-filling bottles in the world.

They decided to go one step further and produce the Sapphire Revelation in a limited edition series.

A joyful bottle made of Baccarat crystal, diamonds and saphires, filled with the best gin the firm has ever manufactured, is available for 200,000 dollars.

You may have re-sold your bottle or keep it as one of the kind house ornament when you finish sipping the gin!

10- Dalmore 62 – ($215,000)

This one is a little bit of a mystery since nobody really knows where the name comes from or how much the single malt has cost.

Only 12 bottles have been manufactured here, hence limited quantities play an important role in their price. Interestingly enough, in the airport in Singapore the last known bottle that was found publicly was actually bought.

No one truly knows how it came, but surely the anonymous buyer lands on his feet.

9- Armand de Brignac Midas ($265,000)

Armand de Brignac Midas Champagne is the world’s most costly Champagne ever made to be famous and popular by rappers and sports stars! It is roughly 30 years old and has a special flavor using some of the finest grapes.

However, gold painted bottles are more than likely to have helped to increase their popularity, because they are not seen as one of the most expensive drinks in the world.

8- 1945 Romanee-Conti Wine ($558,000)

In 1945 it was believed to be the most precious vintage in its history.

In 1945 they produced only 600 bottles, which is important too because they had replanted their vines the last year.

The wine was sold at Sotheby’s and described it as “a concentrated and unique wine with seeming eternal force – a wine that was at one with itself.”

Couple it with this bottle’s “provenance” and why it sold for $ 558,000 can easily be seen.

7- Macallan 64 Year Old In Lalique – ($625,000)

Macallan 64 Year Old In Lalique, the most expensive whiskey ever. It was truly recorded, therefore it is no surprise that it carries a price tag.

Macallan is known for its high-quality single-malt whisky, so it’s no surprise when you decide to take up this task.

Only four bottles were ever produced and coupled with the skill of the bottle, and this drink becomes so pricey by its whisky alone.

Each bottle appears to be made of pure, hand-cut crystal and weights 25 kg without any wine within it.

6- Mendis Coconut Brandy VS ($1 Million)

Coconut is usually OK with drinks, but it’s no surprise that Mendis produced a brandy derived from the cocoons altogether!

The House of Mendis founder, W.M. Mendis, has numbered and signed every bottle. However, despite the distinctiveness and the amount of people, $1 million is completely ludicrous to say the least in a bottle of alcohol.

5- Diva Vodka ($1 Million)

This is the only vodka in the world that has been filtered in the traditional way via precious gemstones. Then it’s poured into a bottle with Swarovski crystals in the center of the bottle in a glass tube.

In addition, you pay $1 million for a flask of Vodka, which will probably taste exactly the same as any other brand of good quality.

4- Russo-Baltique Vodka ($1.35 Million)

Russo-Baltique Vodka is the next most expensive alcoholic drink on the list.

You’ll really need to like your Vodka to buy a bottle of this stuff for a whooping $1.35 million per bottle.

The bottles appear like vintage cars and the tops of each bottle are made of 100% pure diamond gold.

Don’t worry though, you won’t go through insane marketing campaigns or followed up on the internet with adverts unless you’re a Russian billionaire or oligarch. It is intended exclusively for the target market listed above, as these are the only ones which can afford it!

3- Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne ($2 Million)

This historical cognac that costs $2 million, which kicks off our top 3. The cognac is 100 years old and the bottle is covered with 24-carat gold, platinum housing and diamond coated.

It seems as though it were a sign of surrender or just the spoil of war to a medieval King after battle.

2- Tequila Ley .925 ($3.5 Million)

This tequilla bottle is second in our list, but has not been bought yet.

The 6,400 distinct diamonds on the flask help to enhance tequila’s flavor, and this is why it is so costly to buy.

However, it still does not sell, which means that in the future, we may end up selling for much less.

But it’s still the world’s second largest alcoholic drink for now!

1- Billionaire Vodka – ($3.7 Million)

It was somehow apparent that a brand with “billionaire” in the name could take the number one spot, right?

Well, exactly that was done by Billionaire Vodka. Billionaire Vodka creates alcoholic beverages wholly handmade and on demand with a brand slogan: “This is nice to be king.” Each bottle is prepared in small micro-lots with a top-secret Russian recipet.

The enormous five liter vial is coated by Leon Verre and decorated in over 3,000 diamonds and Swarovski crystals.

Billionaire Vodka is the world’s most costly alcoholic drink!
