It’s Alyssa Edwards as we all know her as Justin Dwayne Lee Johnson as the drag performer was born on January 16, 1980, in Mesquite, Texas. He was raised alongside four siblings in Texas and he was a weird kid growing up loving the pink stuff with his sisters.
Growing up, his father decided to sign him for little league football, but after he suffered a broken arm, he realized that playing football was not what he wanted to do. For his education, Justin went to West Mesquite High School.

Alyssa Edwards is popular as a drag performer. The journey to becoming who she is began when an uncle who was a gay actor invited Justin to a local theater community he was involved in. Edwards had a small part to play and, with a very good performance, his uncle wanted him to get involved in the theater a little more, as it was easy for him to pick up objects.
His next destination would be the Joy Sharp School of Dance where he was enrolled by his mother with the help of his uncle to learn jazz. There his interest in choreography began and when he didn’t have class he would stay home to watch and take some steps to practice with his sisters.
Just as he was about to start his career as a drag performer, Justin Johnson decided it had to be Alyssa Edwards. Alyssa because he grew up watching Who’s the Boss ! and Alyssa Milano was her choice, because she is beautiful, charismatic and funny. He chose the name Edwards because of former drag queen Laken Edward, who was among the first people to train him.
Professional life
The inspiration for Edwards to become a brake performer came when he was 19 years old. It was her first time going to a gay club and it was surprising to find such a place, but it was the start of something new for her.
Edwards has won many pageant titles in the past including Miss Gay Texas America (2005) and then became the alternate Miss Gay America the same year. She was also Miss Gay USofA (2006) and Miss Texas Continental in 2007 and 2009. In 2009 and 2016 she won Miss Shining Star Continental and Miss Gay America respectively. Southern Elegance All American Goddess and All American Goddess arrived in 2010.
Beyond performing drag as Alyssa Edwards, Johnson owns and runs the Beyond Belief Dance Company. He started school as a result of his childhood fantasy of becoming the Steven Spielberg of dance. Choreographer and director, Justin wanted to tell stories through movement and dance, thus strengthening his motivation to create the company.
Justin Johnson has also appeared in some TV shows and movies sometimes under the pseudonym Justin and other times under the pseudonym Alyssa. Some appearances include in Hurricane Bianca (2016) and 2018’s second part, Beyond Belief (2015), and he’s working on a docuseries that’s coming to Netflix soon, ‘Dancing Queen’.

Unlike a lot of gay people, there was hardly anything like dating for Justin. His freshman year in college, he came home with blonde hair and thin eyebrows that left his father in shock, but not his mother, Sherrie Johnson. When he tried to tell his mother he was bisexual, she said she knew he was gay and loved him for who he was.
In 2014, Alyssa said in a YouTube video that she has a boyfriend named Marco whom she called on set. Nothing is known about Marco or anyone she dated. More so, there is no public record of Alyssa’s or her husband’s married life.
