Carter Page was not a popular name in the world’s public scene until 2016 when he became involved in Donald Trump’s presidential campaign as a foreign policy adviser. He is the managing partner of Global Energy Capital, a company he founded. Along with some others who worked as foreign policy advisers for the Trump campaign, he is also at the center of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Who is Carter Page?
The former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser was born Carter William Page on June 3, 1971, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was raised in Poughkeepsie, New York by his parents, Allan Robert Page and Rachel Page.
Regarding his education, Page went to Notre Dame. He graduated from Lourdes High School in 1989. He then joined the United States Naval Academy where he graduated first rank and then graduated with a master’s degree from Georgetown University.
With a father who worked with the Central Hudson as a manager and executive of Gas & Electric Company, it was quite easy for Carter Page to find her footing in the business world after serving in the US Navy for five years. But before that, he worked at Merrill Lynch as an investment banker, after attending New York University and earning an MBA.
Along with Merrill Lynch, he served in Moscow where he worked as one of the vice presidents, although not as high a position as it might seem, with little or no decision-making power. He left the company in 2008 to launch his global energy capital alongside James Richard and Sergei Yatsenko.
However, as of 2017 he was the only employee and little is known about the company which mainly focused on oil and gas. It’s the same way a lot of other things about him aren’t very clear.
Who is the woman or is he gay ?
Prior to his involvement in the Trump campaign and afterward, his ties to Russia, and his name appearing in the ongoing investigation, there is virtually nothing known about Carter Page. In fact, he is also little known even in the business world in Russia where he worked for a long time.
This means that his relationship life has also remained largely hidden from the public eye. On top of that, there are no records that show he has a wife or even suggest that he was ever married. That doesn’t mean he’s gay because there’s no record to back it up.
How is it connected to Russia?
As stated above, even before he had anything to do with Carter Page had ties to Russia where he worked for over seven years. According to him, he worked with Kremlin personnel as an informal adviser. It was 2013 towards the G-20 summit which had energy issues among the agenda items.
Beyond his mere presence in Russia, Page aOn has always said that his side was soft on Russia or, to put it better, he had always had feelings favorable to Vladimir Putin which led him to cultivate critical ideas. regarding US foreign policy toward Russia.
On March 21, 2016, Carter Page was nominated by Donald Trump to serve in his campaign as a foreign policy adviser. Next September, investigations would begin into allegations of Russian interference in the election and contact between some members of the Trump campaign and Russian officials. One of the people at the center of this page was Page, which led to his resignation from the campaign team.
The page became further embroiled in controversy after its name was linked to the Trump-Russia dossier which contained allegations of conspiracy between the Russian government and the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential election.
While others like Paul Manafort, GeorgePapadopoulos and Michael Flynn, also involved in the investigation, would later plead guilty to various charges. There is still no trial against Carter Page who testified before the House Intelligence Committee and is still under investigation by the FBI.
