He is best known for hosting the comedy show The Chris Gethard Show. The show which is based in New York City was originally a live performance at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Gethard was born and raised with his parents, Kenet Sally Gethard in West Orange, New Jersey. The comedian was born on May 23, 1980, and when he was of age, he was enrolled at West Orange High School. There are no details about his time in high school. However, Chris attended Rutgers University.
In 2000, while at Rutgers, he began taking improvisational theater classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. It was here that he met a number of people who would have been instrumental in bringing about his eponymous talk show, Comedy Central’s The Christ Gethard Show. Gethard once hitchhiked to Bonnaroo, Tennessee from Los Angeles, relying only on help from strangers. He documented the whole experience in a series of videos on YouTube.
