Scrapp Deleon is an American reality television star, best known for appearing in the cast of the VH1 reality television show, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta beginning in the 5th season. He appeared on the show alongside his mother Karen KK King and his brother the disc, SAS.

Unfortunately, Deleon’s appearance on the show was cut short later in the 5th season after he was sent to prison for drug dealing. Scrapp’s final arrest and court hearing, caught on VH1 cameras, would perhaps go down in history as one of the show’s most memorable scenes.

Here’s what you need to know about his life and his prison sentence.

Who is Scrapp Deleon from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta?

Scrapp Deleon of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta was born as Will Cortez Robinson on March 12, 1988 in Woodstock, Georgia to single mother Karen King. As a young boy, Scrapp was a fan of rap music. Until his teens, Scrapp and his younger brother SAS (born Lyndon Ahlik Smith, born June 2, 1993) joined the rap group Da Razkalz Cru, formed by their first cousin, the late rapper Dollar (real name Roderick) . Anthony Burton II). The boys all grew up together in the same house.

In addition to their rap group, the brothers formed The Gang Entertainment with their friend Streetz.

In 2003 Da Razkalz Cru signed a recording contract with Elektra Records. They made their first television appearance as a group on a live comedy and variety sketch show, All That.

Under Elektra Records, the band released their debut single “So Fly” which unfortunately struggled to find success. Following the single’s failure, Scrapp’s band was dropped from the label after which each member of the band devoted themselves to their solo activity.

Dollar, one of the most successful members of the group, met Akon shortly after his departure from Elektra Records and was signed in 2007 by the group Akon (Konvict Muzik).

Unfortunately, Scrapp’s cousin Dollar, whom he often referred to as a brother, Dollar didn’t live long enough to gain much ground with his music. Scrapp was at odds with Dollar at an LA mall late in the afternoon of May 18, 2009, when 23-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry shot Dollar dead.

The unfortunate passing of the dollar would greatly influence Scrapp and his music. In an interview with XXLMag in 2010, Scrapp revealed that in memory of his cousin, he created a restaurant he called Buck’s Barbeque. Dollar was called Buck by his family.

Also in Dollar’s honour, Scrapp started a children’s non-profit organization called the “Dolla Foundation”. This foundation aims to promote the education of children.

The split in his childhood band wasn’t the end of Scrapp’s musical career continued through his musical life. He would later form a group called Natural Born Leaders (NBL), made up of people with different dreams and a common goal of supporting each other. On the music side, Scrapp continued to make new music releasing the mixtape No Better Therapy. However, he never appeared in the mainstream until 2015 when he joined the cast of Love and Hip Hop.

Scrapp Deleon has two sons named Aking and Akil. The first stems from his long-term relationship with fellow countrywoman, Tia Becca. He was also in a relationship with LHHA star Tommie Lee.

Is he out of jail?

As of today, Scrapp Deleon is still being held behind bars, however, there is a big chance that he will be released as soon as 2019! Deleon was originally scheduled to be sentenced to 20 years in prison for drug trafficking.

The sentence is according to the state of Georgia law which considers carrying an amount of marijuana worth between 10 and 20,000 pounds a crime. Deleon was snapped with an amount between that range on May 13, 2014.

However, after pleading guilty to drug trafficking at his last hearing in March 2016 and asking the judge to be lenient, his sentence behind bars was reduced to 5 years with 15 years probation and a $100,000 fine. . After this calculation, Scrapp’s release year should be 2021.

However, reports surfaced in early 2018 that he could be released in 2019, ahead of his due date. His first outing was first hinted at in a recap of the 7th season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. An episode of the season showed Scrappy’s mother visiting her bail slave who told her that Scrapp could be freed by July 2019 due to his better conduct behind bars.

His net worth

Scrapp Deleon may not have grown up with his music but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t earn a lot. He also supplements his music income with revenue from his restaurant and clothing line. His net worth is estimated at $200,000.
