The Bollywood actor and comedian was born on May 31, 1979 in Dehradun, but he is said to have spent his early days in Africa as a student at the Indian Language School in Lagos, Nigeria, before transferring to the Lawrence School, Sanawar. He attended college at Knox College, Illinois, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics and theater. In Knox, Vir was part of the Sigma Nu fraternity unit which is called Delta Theta Chapter.
Career
Vir Das began his acting career during his Knox days with his first appearance in Brown Men Can’t Hump which was shown at the Harbach Theater. Vir also won the Richter Fellowship for Drama and the Colton Performance Award for Outstanding Work, from his Knox College, which allowed him to improve his method acting skills at Harvard.
The comedian who also writes and directs some of his works made his debut at Habitat Center’s sixth center in India, titled Brown Men Can’t Work, Not Just For Members, Weary Of Things! and Viragra.
