On November 15, 2018, the entertainment world was left in shock after the mysterious death of Kim Porter. She was an actress and model who was most popular for her relationship with American music mogul, P Diddy. Although their relationship ended many years ago, they remained friends until the death of the former model.

Who was Kim Porter?

Kim Porter was born on December 16, 1971 in Columbus, Georgia. Although not much is known about her early life, it is known that she attended Columbus High School, where she graduated in 1988.

When she was young, her dream was to become a model, something she started even before moving to Atlanta after graduation to pursue it on a bigger stage. In addition to modeling, Porter was also an actress who appeared in the 2001 film, The Brothers. She also appeared in Wicked Games (2007) and some reality TV shows such as The Hollywood Story (2006) and I Want to Work for Diddy (2008).

Also, she founded the Ultra-Tainment company known as “3 Brown Girls”. The somewhat popular Atlanta company was co-founded with Eboni Electra and Nicole Johnson.

Husband, children and Her relationship with P Diddy

Although it was with Diddy that Kim Porters would have come to be known, he was not the first man in her life. In 1989, she married American R&B record producer and actor Al B. Sure! with whom she had her first son, Quincy Jones in 1991. Sadly, the two ended their union in 1990 even before their son was born.

P Diddy is a man who is known to have many relationships so far. However, we can place this one above all others, it is his relationship with Kim Porter.

The singer first saw her while working at Uptown Records as an A&R executive. Kim came to the studio with her ex-boyfriend, but Diddy fell for her, immediately wishing he had a girl like her. When things happened, he got her later and they started dating in 1994. At the time, his son was 3 years old.

Although the relationship lasted until 2007, it was not without its problems as they broke up several times before getting back together. One such breakup came in 2002, when Porter sued Sean Diddy Combs for additional child support. However, before too long, the two men found themselves in each other’s arms.

When she was pregnant with their twins in 2006, Kim discovered that Diddy had given birth to someone outside of their relationship. Five months before the birth of their twins, the other woman, Sarah Chapman, gave birth to her daughter, Combs, Chance Combs. Kim Porter felt betrayed for cheating on her, but was extremely disappointed that she couldn’t tell her what happened before she found out. Although he will tell her later, it was already too late for her.

Knowing that Diddy was a man of more words than actions, she decided to contact him with actions and not words, because she knew that if she told him she was leaving, he was never going to let it happen. And so, when he was out of town, she let him take everything with her, including the cars and the nursery furniture.

Despite the breakup that Kim Porter said she wanted to be dramatic, the two have remained very close as friends. In fact, the following year, after the breakup, the singer threw a big birthday party for her. Although Combs has met other women since their relationship ended, he still found time to hang out and celebrate different things with Kim.

As a couple, Diddy and Kim have three childrenChristian Casey Combs, born in 1998, as well as Jessie James Combs and D’Lila Star Combs, born in 2006. In addition, Combs also considers Quincy Jones as his son.

His death

On November 15, 2018, Kim Porter was found unresponsive in Toluca Lake, California and at 11:40 a.m. she was pronounced dead. Although an autopsy could not initially determine the cause of her death, it was reported that she had health issues, including pneumonia.

After his death which devastated Diddy, he revealed that he had lost more than just a soul mate and a friend. One of the last things she shared on social media was a photo of Combs.
