Christine Ruth Brown, Kody Brown’s third wife, was born on April 18, 1972. They have six children together.
Early life
Rex Allred and Ruthann LeBaron gave birth to Christine Ruth Allred on April 18, 1972. Christine’s parents were polygamists when she was born, but it’s unclear how many additional spouses her father had or how many siblings Christine has.
Rulon C. Allred, Christine’s grandpa, founded the Apostolic United Brethren. She was up in a privileged household and remembers her youth fondly as an adult. Her parents, she adds, were wonderful and exemplary polygamists who never quarreled. Christine attended Taylorsville High School and graduated in 1990.
Personal life
Christine met Kody Brown in 1990 while he was chaperoning a youth outdoor excursion, and she began to get to know him and his wife Meri at that time. She chose to seek a romance after building a connection for a few years. “I talked to my Dad first – he’d been wanting me to marry Kody for years, so he enthusiastically agreed,” she recalled of their first meeting. “On Valentine’s Day of 1994, Kody formally inquired about me. He came to town with Janelle that weekend, and we went out on our first date, when he proposed.”
Christine spiritually married Kody Brown on March 25, 1994. She was his third wife, coming after Meri and Janelle. Having been raised in polygamy, Christine was more than happy to be one of three wives.
“I wanted the family, I didn’t just want the man,” she says in the introduction to her family’s reality show.
She has also spoken about wanting to be the third wife, saying “So I only ever wanted to be a third. I never wanted to be a first, at all, and then I didn’t want to be a second because I felt like, because I didn’t want to be married to a guy by myself. They were a little wedge in the relationship, and I didn’t want to be the wedge. I only ever wanted to be a third, because it sounded the easiest.”
They announced their split on November 2, 2021.
